Before Installation
Door Thickness
Your KitLock is supplied ready to fit doors up to 19mm (3/4") thick.
For doors between 19mm (3/4") and 25mm (1") thick, you will need to install the 28.5mm (1 1/8") spare spindle. A 9mm (3/8") spare spindle is also included for sheet metal doors. For guidance on how to swap the spindles, see instructions and diagram below:
| - Remove the lower 2 fixing screws.
- Remove cover plate, spindle and threaded shaft.
- Replace with spare spindle and threaded shaft.
- Replace cover plate.

Replacing an existing cam lock
- Remove existing cam lock.
- Place the template on the door, lining up the 16mm (5/8”) spindle hole over the original cam lock hole and mark the fixing hole.
- Drill the 6mm (1/4”) fixing hole.
- Fit the KitLock to the door.
- If required, use the packing pieces (supplied) to centralise the lock.
- Secure the lock to the door with the large fixing nut.
- Fit the upper fixing bolt.
- Select and fit cam using the fixing nut and locking washer. Lock nut in place by folding over washer tabs.
- Check operation:
Public Function: The lock is unlocked by default. Present compatible card to lock the lock. Re-present the card to open.
Private Function: The lock is locked by default. Present a registered card to open.
New Installation
- Place the template on the door and mark the 6mm (1/4”) fixing hole and 16mm (5/8”) spindle hole.
Note: Ensure positioning of the fixing and spindle holes allow enough clearance for the selected cam. - Drill both holes.
- Continue with steps 4-9 above.
