Installation Instructions

Before Installation

Before installing the lock, load the batteries and familiarise yourself with the Programming and Operating Instructions.

Door Thickness

Your KitLock is supplied ready to fit doors up to 19mm (3/4") thick.
For doors between 19mm (3/4") and 25mm (1") thick, you will need to install the 28.5mm (1 1/8") spare spindle. A 9mm (3/8") spare spindle is also included for sheet metal doors. For guidance on how to swap the spindles, see instructions and diagram below:

  1. Remove the lower 2 fixing screws.
  2. Remove cover plate, spindle and threaded shaft.
  3. Replace with spare spindle and threaded shaft.
  4. Replace cover plate.

Replacing an existing cam lock

  1. Remove existing cam lock.
  2. Place the template on the door, lining up the 16mm (5/8”) spindle hole over the original cam lock hole and mark the fixing hole.
  3. Drill the 6mm (1/4”) fixing hole.
  4. Fit the KitLock to the door.
  5. If required, use the packing pieces (supplied) to centralise the lock.
  6. Secure the lock to the door with the large fixing nut.
  7. Fit the upper fixing bolt.
  8. Select and fit cam using the fixing nut and locking washer. Lock nut in place by folding over washer tabs.

Note: Ensure positioning of the fixing and spindle holes allow enough clearance for the selected cam.
