Reasons/purposes for processing information

We process personal information to enable us to buy, sell, provide, promote and advertise our products and services; maintain our own accounts and records; support and manage our employees; the sharing of personal information; the use of CCTV systems for crime prevention. 

Type/classes of information processed

We process information relevant to the above reasons/purposes. This may include:

  • personal details
  • education and employment details (for employees and applicants)
  • goods and services
  • product or service information (for example: model numbers, software versions and serial numbers) 

Who the information is processed about

We process personal information about:

  •  employees
  • customers
  •  suppliers
  • service providers
  • enquirers
  • individuals captured by CCTV images 

Who the information may be shared with

We sometimes need to share the personal information we process with the individual them-self and also with other organisations. Where this is necessary we are required to comply with all aspects of the Data Protection Act (DPA). What follows is a description of the types of organisations we may need to share some of the personal information we process with for one or more reasons. 
Where necessary or required we share information with:

  • employees
  • customers
  • suppliers and service providers (for example: to troubleshoot issues or where third parties are required to fulfil an agreed order or service) other companies in the same group 

Transferring information overseas

In order to provide some online services, data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA). 

Accessing your information

Under the Act, you are entitled to ask for a copy of the personal information that we hold about you and to have any inaccuracies in your personal information corrected.

Sharing your personal information

We may need to share your information with third parties in order to troubleshoot any technical issues that you may have. 
When your personal information is shared it will be done so in line with the Act. You are entitled to know why and how we are sharing your personal information (as noted above) and the organisation or individual receiving your personal information will be required to protect your information in line with the Act. 

Logging and recording of communications with you

We may log communications between you and us for the purposes described earlier in this statement. We may also record telephone calls you make to our Helpdesk for quality and training purposes (you will be notified of this when you call the Helpdesk).
