The A3 Vandal Resist Door Controller with RFID is a compact, standalone programmable access control system that provides proximity access for up to 600 users.

1  Use appropriate fixings for your application. Wall plugs supplied may not be suitable for all applications.


INSTALL

1. Remove back cover from the unit by removing the bottom screws
2. Drill two fixing holes1 and a cable passage hole
3. Fix back cover to the wall
4. Thread cable through back cover into cable passage hole
5. Reattach unit to the back cover

Note: Install a 1N4004 or equivalent diode when using a common power supply. See reverse for wiring diagram.


OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

When first powered, the unit will be in Standalone/Controller Mode; the unit acts as both controller and reader, and will allow both Card Clients and Code Clients to be programmed. The pre-registered
Master Programming Cards can be used to quickly add (and delete) new Card Clients. For further programming, the keypad can be used.

ADV Additional access modes are available.


GENERAL OPERATION

Unlock/Open Door
Present a valid Card Client to the unit or enter a valid Code Client followed by a #
Example: 5 7 4 2 #
The LED will turn green and a single beep will sound to indicate acceptance
Silence Alarm
Present a valid Code or Card Client, or enter the Master Code to silence the alarm
Exit Programming Mode
To exit Programming Mode at any time, press the * button until you see a solid red light.


CHANGE THE MASTER CODE

Note: The Master Code is 6 digits in length. Default Master Code is 123456.

ADD CARD CLIENTS

New Card Clients can be added via the keypad or using the Master Add Card.

Unit will assign the Card Client to the next available ID.

Multiple Card Clients may be added by presenting them consecutively before exiting Programming Mode.
OR

Add a Card Client to Specific ID
Unit will assign the Card Client to the specified ID (1-598).

The Master Add Card can be used to add new Card Clients directly, without using the keypad. Using this method, the new Card Client will be assigned to the next available ID.

ADD CODE CLIENTS

New Code Clients can be added via the keypad.
Note: Code Clients may be 4-6 digits long. The code 8 8 8 8 is reserved and cannot be used.

Existing Card Clients can be deleted via the keypad, or using the Master Delete Card.

Pulse Mode is enabled by default, with a re-lock time of 5 seconds.

DOOR DETECTION

Door detection is disabled by default. When enabled and a door contact is fitted, an alarm will sound if the door is left open for one or
more minutes. Should the door be forced open, or if the door has not closed, the alarm will sound. The alarm will automatically silence after one minute or if a valid Code or Card Client is presented.

Note: You will require two compatible cards to assign the Master Add Card and Master Delete Card
Note: Does not clear Code/Card Clients (See Delete Code/Card Clients for details on how to remove Code/ Card Clients)
1. Disconnect power source
2. Press and hold push-to-exit button
3. Reconnect power source (two beeps and LED turns yellow)
4. Release push-to-exit button
5. Present each card in turn;
   a) First card presented will become the Master Add Card
   b) Second card presented will become the Master Delete             Card
6. LED will burn red to indicate end of reset process
